About Chris Britt
Chris Britt is a professional magician based in San Francisco, performing for companies, conferences, and private events across the US and internationally. His background spans 20+ years of live performance, theater training at Northwestern University, and improv at The Second City — all of which shape a style that is polished, interactive, and genuinely surprising.
In his teens, Chris worked at a renowned magic shop and museum of magic, developing his skills, knowledge, and practice of the art. He became inspired by the memorabilia of Houdini, David Copperfield, and thousands of magic books, including an original copy one of the oldest magic books published, The Discoverie of Witchcraft (1584).
Chris continued to explore his passions for magic and entertainment throughout his college and professional career, drawing from his theater degree at Northwestern University, enrollment at The Second City Improvisation and Comedy Conservatory, and mentoring under the legendary political satirist Mort Sahl and actor Robin Williams. A member of the Society of American Magicians and the International Brotherhood of Magicians, Chris has sought an understanding of magic in real life, studying the magical arts and mind-body connection with Ralph Metzner, Ram Dass, and Jeff McBride. Before dedicating himself full-time to performing, Chris spent 15 years as a manager in corporate communications and employee engagement, experience that informs how he reads a room, structures a show for a business audience, and understands what event organizers actually need.
Chris has performed everywhere from corporate conferences in Silicon Valley and Las Vegas to theaters in Tokyo, Bangalore, and New York — and yes, the occasional house party.
The joy of creating moments of wonder and amazement has not worn off in Chris’ over 25 years as a magician. Most recently, Chris’ interests have expanded into not only doing impossible things for others, but also creating workshops where participants can experience what they previously hadn’t considered possible. Community, play, collaboration, humor, storytelling, creativity and shifting perception are his core interests and values.
